SPD Recommends
SPD Recommends is a biweekly fax or email highlighting recommended new titles as they arrive at SPD. To sign up for this service, please
send us a note with your store name, a contact name, and your fax number or preferred email address.
SPD Selects: Checklists
A great resource for buyers, SPD Selects compiles available frontlist and backlist titles from a variety of categories, including Asian American, African American, Native American, Latino/Latina, and Lesbian/Gay titles. If you'd like to receive copies of any of these checklists for yourself or your customers, please
send us a note with your store name, a contact name, and your mailing address. Be sure to mention which checklists you are interested in.
Catalogs
We publish two New Titles Catalogs per year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. Please call or write to receive our most recent catalogs. You can also search our complete
catalog online.
Trade terms
Terms are net 30 days; please pay from invoice.
Standard Discounts:
Assorted 10 or more copies: 40%
5-9: 20%
2-4: 10%
1 copy: net
Textbook Stores
Choose 20% returnable or 40% non-returnable for textbook orders.
Prepaid STOP Orders
1-4 copies: 30% + $3.00 shipping (fourth class bookpost)
5-10 copies: 40% + $4.00 shipping (fourth class bookpost)
New Accounts
New trade customers should prepay the first order and request a Net 30 account. Beginning with the second order the customer will be extended credit. However, the customer's second invoice must be paid prior to submitting any subsequent orders.
Overstock Returns
Returns can be made within one year of paid purchase without prior authorization for credit against future purchases. Boxes must be securely packed, labelled "returns," and include a packing slip with customer's claim number and date of return for reference.
Customers providing invoice numbers, purchase discounts and purchase dates will be credited at the purchase price. All other returns will be credited at 45% off the retail price.
No credit will be issued for titles not purchased from SPD, nor for returns in unsaleable condition (shopworn,
stickered, sticker-marked, or damaged in transit). No credit will be issued for books sold at a non-returnable discount. Returns cannot be accepted for items from unpaid invoices. Titles ineligible for credit will be returned upon customer's request and at their expense.
Claims
In case of damage or order fulfillment errors, we accept immediate returns. Claims for short or
mis-shipments must be made within 45 days of invoice date. Credit will be issued or damaged items replaced immediately upon notification.
