Good reviews can help the sales of your books enormously.
Below are listed a few places that have reviewed SPD
titles in the past. If you send review copies to only
six places, we suggest:
Most magazines prefer to review books before publication,
and you should make every effort to send your earliest
copies of your books to these sources. These include
Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, Foreword and Booklist.
Reviews in these magazines can noticably boost sales
to bookstores and libraries. For more information about
these magazines, please link to them directly.
Publishers
Weekly
Publisher's Weekly has extensive guidelines
for sending review copies, but it is worth the trouble
to read them carefully. At the same time, a review in
PW is probably your best chance to see a real jump in
sales. Please review the PW guidelines and send in a
review copy.

Library Journal prefers to receive materials three to four months
in advance of publication date. They will accept galleys, page proofs, or manuscripts,

Foreword
Magazine
Foreword Magazine is dedicated exclusively
to independent presses. It is a prepublication journal,
so materials should be sent three to four months in
advance of publication date to beconsidered for review
or mention. Galleys, page proofs, or manuscripts are
suitable materials to send. ForeWord generallyavoids
reviewing books later than date of publication.When

Author, title; name, address, and telephone number ofpublisher;
date of publication; price; number of pages; and ISBN
number. Please indicate whether any illustrations, an
index, orbibliography will be included; also include

Rain Taxi Review of Books is a quarterly publication
featuring reviews of literary fiction, poetry, and nonfiction,

Review
According to its masthead, "Boston Review
is a left-center-of-gravity magazine of ideas: a magazine
that aims to expand political debate, shift the cultural
assumptions that frame that debate, and create greater
space for political initiative guided by egalitarian,
radically democratic, and culturally pluralist values."
It is also has an excellent track record when it comes
