The Life Drawn in Art

by Javier Baines

Dear Graffiti,
I wonder why you have me so attracted to you.
To me it’s like I have nothing else to do.
Your color and style has me addicted to paint.
You are pierced in my mind like a shank.
You’re the reason why I am so disconnected with the world.
I’m stained by the guilt and regret.
This is vandalism as I was told.
In this world there should be more people like me.
So you can grow wider and wider.
Your history has a lot of untold secrets wanting to be known.
I can’t wait until the day I let you loose.
I thank god for having you all I ask of you is that
You stay with me in hard times.
