My Fantasy / Three Truths and One Lie

by Nate Logan

“My panacea's in a Xerox shop.” – They Might Be Giants

does back flips in the Caribbean. My bedroom eyes
undress a scantily clad cactus. My inhibitions
are piled up with socks on the floor. My pancakes
don’t require your attendance.
My country music career is “on the backburner”
until the divorce is final. My karma
only comes in one language: Finnish. My surfboard
wants to go home, wherever that is. My chest piece
leaves nothing to the imagination.
My inner monologue wants to go south,
go south, go south. My photo shoot
was poorly received in the key demographic. My claws
can’t get much sharper than cheese. My sunny day
has clouds all over the place, even indoors.
