Window of Self-Torment

by Alex Edgar

Dear Self-torment
You envision the world
through a crimson window
repel the resonance from
the echoes of falling
lumber.
Your reflection fuses
With titanium and ivory
Never seen by reason
Your feeling is as solid
As stone but is sublime
Like Baltic amber
Tap the dial pad
And ring the bell
To save your guilt
But you will never
annihilate the truth.
