Come One, Come All!

By DeMorney Irons

Hello.
Welcome to my anti-fairy-tale
Where following the heart and
True love are overrated.
It will leave you feeling feeble-minded.
You’ll never sleep again.
It’s a place where lovers die and
Wrists that bleed.
It’s here in this place,
Dreams are shattered by terror.
Like a fish out of water your innocence will
Die.
Perverted scenes will gnaw at your eyes till
You too become part of our crimson
Neverland.
Blinded by acidic bliss, once euphoric,
Those in love stumble in and over pathways
Bedecked with razor-sharp truths
Of a happily-never-after.
Torn by estrangement they return
To a harsh reality
Passion strangled from their hearts
And their emotions turn to stone.
Lost, cold, and lifeless.
Welcome to hell.
