Enrique Lihn (1929-1988) was born in Santiago, Chile, and became one of Chile's most important poets. Germán Marín called Lihn's poetry, "one of the most original and profound expressions in Latin American Letters." Another fellow Chilean, antipoet Nicanor Parra, has written, "There is no lucidity like that of Enrique Lihn."
