Poetry. Illustrated by Bruce Botts. "This book might be a handbook of the coveted objects the painters wanted to paint. At least two poems responded to Phoenix Art Museum shows. I tried to research 'Scaramouch' and found strange girls in Phoenix were a living history of that imagery. I think I made use of old research about the painter James Ensor..."—Meg Davis.

Meg Davis was born in Evanston, Illinois. She has a BFA in printmaking from the University of Iowa. She moved to Phoenix in 1984 and put on two poetry contests that gave antique chairs as prizes. She was introduced as a new writer at the 1990 Tucson Poetry Festival.
