Poetry. In these fourteen poems, Digger, the archetypical Detroit factory worker, returns after several years absence from Daniels's books. Digger is now middle aged and facing the downsizing or workers along with a neighborhood becoming racially mixed, both of which present him with frustrations and opportunities. He confronts both with his usual acerbic wit, even as his optimism is purely American.
