Iztok Osojnik is a poet, novelist, essayist, editor, translator, painter and mountain climber. He has published more than sixteen collections of verse, including Mirrors in the Time of War, Hewn Stones, Spleen of Berlin, Postcards for Darja and AND THINGS HAPPEN FOR THE FIRST TIME: SELECTED POEMS. His awards include the Jenko Poetry Award and the Slovenian National Poetry Book Award, and he is the director of the International Vilenica Poetry Festival.
