Poetry. Translation. Translated from the Slovenian by Sonja Kravanja. Features drawings by Fero Malik. The evocative poems of Iztok Osojnik both transcend the wall that separates us from each other and culture form culture in order to affirm the reality of the self, and creating some sense of presence and fullness to fill the emptiness of whatever might still exist beyond the self. Steeped in Eastern philosophy as well as Western metaphysics, equally at home with Li Po and Rilke or Hölderlin, Osojnik has created a book that confronts and poetically analyzes, what he calls, our central ontological issues.
