Cultural Writing. Art. DVD. LIFE ITSELF offers glimpses into the lives of three artists, Michael Bernard Loggins, Allura Fong, and Sue Chan, who work together at Creativity Explored, an art studio for adults with disabilities. The structure of this documentary resembles a poem. A series of visually compelling vignettes slowly build to create personal and complex portraits of these three artists, who share broader aspects of their lives outside of the art center. LIFE ITSELF ushers us into a world of dreams and fears, frustrations and inspirations, recognizing that art and life often share similar difficulties of description.
