Poetry. Laura Elrick explains FANTASIES IN PERMEABLE STRUCTURES to the reader in the following way: "The present work, though at once intimately public and fiercely personal , does not seek to claim an exclusively authentic experimental idiolect. Rather, like a saphrophyte, it flourishes in the cracks and crevices of dead materials, metabolically decomposing as it feeds. Written in 32 sections of 32 lines (throughout my 32nd year), I have begun to sense that each "fantasy" acts as a conceptual anagram of the selves through which the plotted language of instutions permeates. Subjective, by the way of Social Abstraction. Uber-Real."
