Poetry. SOLVITUR AMBULANDO is a record of James Walsh's extensive reading on walking. Citing Le Corbusier, Poe, Debord, and other writers on the subject, Walsh reproduces the montage effect of Walter Benjamin's "The Arcades Project." Walsh's book of epigraphs serves as both a self-portrait and a map tracing the meandering path his reading took. In this respect, SOLVITUR AMBULANDO correlates to Walsh's recent drawings and sculptures, his courses for walking marked out along specific sites.
