Poetry. In these lines of prose poetry, there are repeated attempts to state the obvious—but truth is the most elusive of goals, and the poems in THE MEMORY THEATER BURNED bear witness to the myriad difficulties encountered in its pursuit. Damon Krukowski writes in a number of voices: the voice of the singer (Krukowski's day job), the teller of tales, the neurotic on the couch...with echos of diverse literary sources: midrash, classical rhetoric, hermetic writings, and all manner of memoirs, travelogues, and testimonials. "Damon regards language as prayer thought. His lines move with a strange speed of wonder yet with an ear towards newfound sound. This is good music"—Thurston Moore.
