Poetry. Katy Giritsky was born in Hong Kong to Russian parents who had the day before caught the last scheduled flight out of Shanghai before the communist forces took the city. When she was two and a half, her family immigrated to the U.S., settling in Pasadena, CA when she grew up. She attended the University of Southern California, earning degrees in English and law. While still an undergraduate, she studied poetry with Donald Davie. Her work has apeared in numerous publications.
