Poetry. Poetry. These poems and dialogues, a collaboration between Kit Robinson and Alan Bernheimer, are perfectly suited to the press they are published on (Sound & Language). Undermining the reader's simple confidence in words, sound, and meaning (especially if the reader expects something like a Socratic dialogue) the authors interweave their experiences in the high tech field with their commitment to freeing language from its most stilted chains. These collaborations, begun in the 70s, take us through the 90s. Among Kit Robinson's many books at SPD (including some older titles in limited quantities) are COUNTER MEDITATION, BALANCE SHEET and DEMOCRACY BOULEVARD. Alan Bernheimer's BILLIONESQUE came out in 1999 is also available through SPD.
