CD Format. Cultural Commentary. On this CD, recorded before a packed and fired up crowd at the AK Press warehouse, Churchill encourages activists to act: "If you are actually in solidarity with people suffering, do something tangible to make it stop. Prayer vigils are real nice, and I like lit candles in the night as much as anyone else. But it's never ever in the history of humanity been known to stop a bullet. It's never been known to feed a child. It's never been known to have the least swaying effect on those in power." In the aftermath of 9-11, Churchill argues that we should not foreclose any tactical option in pursuit of changing the dynamics of power. And we must understand the choice of violence as a tactic by those who do not have the resources to fight battles in Congress, the courtroom, and the media--because they are literally fighting for their lives.
