Fiction. "Greg, how do you get yourself in so much trouble?" his mother always asked him. And he's done it in spades this time, crossing the country on a Greyhound with a stripper named Cindy who's parents have died. Not one day later, she dies of an overdose. "Relax," everyone but the town's sheriff tells him. So he raids the dead dad's refrigerator to find two cases of beer and enough drugs to buy a Mercedes. "Relax," he tells himself. Then someone tries to kill him. And then that someone is dead. "Relax," Cindy's old boyfriend tells him as they dump car and body into a bottomless quarry. One day later, Greg awakes in the play western town of Paradise. And just guess what everyone tells him to do.

He spent many years in the Army National Guard as a combat medic and now lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with his wife Shannon. Scott plays guitar and sings with his wife in the band Gasoline Stove, which plays many of his original songs. Scott has written several novels.
