Magazine. African American Studies. Literature and Essays. BRONX BIANNUAL began in the summer of 2006, a literary journal edited by Miles Marshall Lewis dedicated to publishing urbane urban literature. The premiere edition published fiction andessays from some of the finest writers of the hip-hop generation, including Greg Tate, KRS-One, Donnell Alexander, and many new talents. Each Bronx Biannual will be decidedly different from its predecessors in terms of editorial focus and design. Issue 2 features wild, strict, and pretty writing from authors Kenji Jasper, Mariahadessa Ekerie Tallie, Carol Taylor, Michael A. Gonzales, and more new voices.

Miles Marshall Lewis was born in the Bronx in 1970 and currently splits his time between New York City and Paris, France. He is the author of "Scars of the Soul" (Akashic, 2004), and is a former editor of Vibe and XXL. His work has been published in The Nation, The Source, The Village Voice, Rolling Stone, Essence, and other publications.
