Drew Gardner spent his teenage years playing drums in a punk rock band. In the early 90s he lived in San Francisco, writing and working as a jazz drummer. Since 1996 he has lived in New York City, conducting and experimenting in extensive poetomusical collaborations with his Poetics Orchestra. His most recent music can be heard on the album FLARF ORCHESTRA (Edge Books, 2011). He is a member of the Flarf Collective. His books include CHOMP AWAY (Combo Books, 2011), PETROLEUM HAT (Roof Books, 2005), SUGAR PILL (Krupskaya, 2002), and WATER TABLE (Situations Press, 2002). He lives in New York City with the poet Katie Degentesh.
