Poetry. Prose. Drawings. In the preface to these beautiful, spare poems and drawings, poet and editor Martha King describes the process that poet and artist Basil King went through as he created visual accompaniments to various literary works. She writes The process appealed to me, and...I decided to reverse it, using a series of pencil drawings Baz had done of some things he kept on a window sill in his studio on Hudson Avenue. There were, it turned out, seventeen of them. And so there are seventeen drawings and seventeen poems in this volume, in addition to a prose Afterword, also accompanied by drawings, which relates the adventures and misadventures of the studio on Hudson.
