Poetry. In this second collection of poems, Anne Caston struggles with reason and faith and the "whole thorn-torn mess a world can sometimes be." The poems consider humanness in all its extremes and they do not flinch or look away, even when the speaker herself stands at the "frayed rope-end of hope." JUDAH'S LION, in the end, is a book of redemption and the necessary compassion we need to face the beauty and terror of our lives.
