Poetry. SENTIMENTAL BLUE, the newest collection of Tucson's Jefferson Carter, returns with notable humor to themes of marriage, parenthood, drugs, writing, and faith. "The poems embrace small, familiar words and build to an understated universality"--Arizona daily star. "Carter's work is not mainstream. It is very idiosyncratic. It takes on issues that are touchy and satirical in a way that is challenging to the reader"--Charles Alexander. Appreciated as one of Tucson's favored poets, Jefferson Carter is currently writing department chair and teaches developmental composition and poetry writing at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona, where he has lived since 1954. SENTIMENTAL BLUE is his seventh book of poetry.
