Magazine. Poetry. Fiction. Literary Nonfiction. Art. BOMBAY GIN is the literary journal of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University, co-founded by Allen Ginsberg and Anne Waldman. Emerging from the "outrider" lineage, which operates outside the cultural mainstream, BOMBAY GIN publishes poetry, prose, and hybrid texts as well as art, translations, interviews, and book reviews. Each issue includes a lecture transcribed from the Naropa Audio Archives, comprised of six thousand hours of tapes documenting classes, performances, workshops, and lectures conducted at Naropa since 1974 by many of the leading figures of the literary avant-garde.

Issue 38:1 is "Threshold: Tenuous Proposition Of," in which words interact, transverse, and explore the liminal space, the space between. Featuring interviews and new work from Thurston Moore, Vanessa Place, and Ronaldo V. Wilson; an interview and prints from printshop gurus Lara Durback, Wesley Tanner, Colin Frazer, and Julia Seko; new writing from Bhanu Kapil, Dodie Bellamy, Lily Hoang, Christina Mengert, Erin Morrill, Ana Božičević, Paul D. Miller (DJ Spooky); and book reviews.
