David Huerta is widely regarded as Mexico's finest living poet. He is the author of 25 books of poems, a political columnist for Proceso, and a professor of literature at UNAM. In 2006 he was awarded the prestigious Xavier Villarrutia Prize for lifelong contributions to Mexican literature.
