His poetry has been featured in Best American Poetry 2010 and he is a former NEA fellow and winner of an Open Voice award. He has led workshops for Cave Canem and the Zora Neale Hurston-Richard Wright Foundation. He lives in Norfolk, Virginia, where he teaches courses for Old Dominion University's English Department and MFA in Writing Program.
