He also served as a Kenyon dean and as provost from 1967-80, then as President of Monmouth College in Illinois through 1994. Bruce is the author of THE ESSENTIAL COLLEGE, published in 2006 by XOXOX Press, and is currently at work on a memoir of his experiences with U.S. military intelligence in postwar Germany.
