Poetry. What began as a series of poems about the Galapagos Islands has become a lifelong obsession for Robert Allen. Originally serialized over four books and two decades his epic long poem THE ENCANTADAS has now been published in its entirety by conundrum press. It is a tour de force from one of Canada's most accomplished poets. "THE ENCANTADAS is one of the finest long poems ever produced in Canada"--Books in Canada. "The poem is...a grab-bag for the bric-a-brac of the author's mind. Because Allen's is a bright and eccentric mind, the highlights can be a lot of fun, as he mixes registers of voice and reference brilliantly"--Quill & Quire. Robert Allen is a formidable figure in Canadian literature"--Montreal Review of Books.
