Here are vivid descriptions of natural scenes--Northern cottage-country and farther afield--wherein the speaker in his limberlost retreat, suddenly wakes under the shadow of carbon smog. As poet A.F. Moritz puts it, these poems "are remarkable for the discovery of depth and resonant mystery within realistic detail.
