About the author: Dorothea Lasky was born in St. Louis in 1978. She is the author of BLACK LIFE (Wave Books, 2010), AWE (Wave Books, 2007) and numerous chapbooks, and has attended the University of Pennsylvania, Washington University, Harvard University and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
