Poetry. Each of the poems in this slim but intense volume is coupled with a striking illustration by Mark Polyakov. The combination of words and visual art creates a series of compelling images that will not soon be forgotten. Stanley H. Barkan is the editor/publisher of the Cross-Cultural Review Series of World Literature and Art in Sound, Print, and Motion. In 1978, he was a Fellow of the Stichting/Amsterdam and was awarded a medal for his contribution to the arts in Sicily. Barkan was one of ten American editors who, in 1987, represented the United States at the Jerusalem International Book Fair. Co-director of the 1990-1991 International Literary Arts Festival at the United Nations and recipient of the Poor Richard's Award, Stanley H. Barkan has published over 350 titles in 50 different languages and was the first solo featured poet at the Dylan Thomas Centre in Swansea, Wales.
