SPD EBOOKS

SPD can now distribute ebooks as well as physical books! SPD is currently helping a group of California publishers bring their books into the digital future with special project support from the James Irvine Foundation and the Friends of SPD. The first batch of SPD books ebooks will appear soon (and a few are already available) and can be purchased through all major ebook retail outlets. Though we're diving in with these specially funded California publishers, all SPD publishers are eligible to take advantage of special conversion rates SPD has arranged for our presses with Bookmobile. We want to make sure the digital future is available to everyone! SPD Publishers, find out the details here!

SPD SENIOR BOOK GROUPS

SPD's "I Remember" Project, sponsoring book groups specially designed for seniors in Marin Country, has just been renewed for a second year though the generous support of the Marin Community Foundation. And with help from the Marin Free County Library and Engage As You Age, SPD has been supplying books, discussion guides, refreshments and encouragement to seniors in Marin to participate in reading groups. One of the groups meets entirely in Spanish. There is so much enthusiasm for this project that we are hoping to expand the program throughout the Bay Area. We've created reading guides for the selected books and hope to add more to the program in the future. You can download two of the guides here.

WANT TO START A BOOK GROUP OF YOUR OWN?

We are offering a 30% discount on SPD books to anyone wanting to start their own book group. You don't have to be a senior to get the discount.

SPD BEST-SELLERS

SPD Best-sellers continue to be of great interest to authors, booksellers, librarians and other readers of SPD books. Bestseller lists are available along the left sidebar on the website, please check them out!

SPD DECEMBER OPEN HOUSE

Pamela Lu, author of one of SPD's all time best-sellers, Pamela: A Novel, will be one of the readers for the next SPD Open House. Pam has a new book from Kenning Editions called Ambient Parking Lot. BECOME A FRIEND OF SPD

Readers like you are why Small Press Distribution is able to help sustain American independent publishing as we have for more than forty years. It's that simple. We receive some necessary support from the National Endowment for the Arts and from a small handful of private foundations, but without your help there can't be an SPD! Please become a Friend of SPD today. You'll get a great discount and directly help sustain the publication of the independently published books you want to read.
