Is change the only constant?

By Jonathon Custodio

How do you define the norm?
Are you content with the life you lead?
Do you feel
Like your reality is absolute?
Where you fee; content and complacent?
Does security make you feel whole?

Is fear a driving force of what
Your daily routine consists of?
Actions and thoughts?
Plotted around what could be?
Could happen?

Why does our life
Revolved around
Emotions?
Do happiness and fear
Find us?
Or is,
The natural world,
We live in, bent on
Putting us in
Situations to make us
Unsatisfied and not content
With tasks we set
Upon ourselves to
Accomplish or
Is that just life?

Why are our lives
Filled
With constant struggles
And the empowerment
Of succeeding only leads
To another struggle
Will we ever
Have time to enjoy the fact that we can “thrive” and
Live through difficult times?
Or will wars wage
On to our lives
To fight to live
In a land we call free?
