Drown Out

By Taylor Carrarini

What happens to music unheard?
Does it wrap around an open mind?
Like a child learning to speak?
Or does it echo around
And then drown out from other sound?
Does it whisper in the wind like a howling chill?
Or represent a fallen friend
Like soldiers on the wasteland
Maybe it just sings
Like an angelic choir
Or does it…fade?
