Dear Unknown

by Erica Hammonds

Dear Unknown,

Are you here because you want to
be? or do you just want to be
inside of me? was I born with
you? are you my half twin? or do
you just come with the wind?
you have many part of you. You
can be smart and even cool. but
you turned on me. and made me
cry. that’s when we parted and
aid our goodbyes. I still see you
in my head. on my pillow in my
bed. with your curly hair that
I loved so much. I laugh only
with your touch. on one here
have our memories that we share.
bring me SoBe’s and pickles.
and give me a kiss, just a little.
“gone with the wind” they always
say this is when I cry and you
die. hope our souls find each
other in another life. until then
we’ll still fight.
