Autumn

by Matt Lambeth

the film had much death
the memory loosens its grip
it awakened anew only to bring sorrow
did it really happen
it seems like faded text on a yellowed page

run jump climb

burn

we all held hands for some time
as the sun rose and fell
our grip too loosened
we seek revenge only to bring further pain
the pain is too much
the film is too much

she wipes tears from her eyes
i lay my head on her bosom
her heartbeat keeps perfect time
i could stay here forever
laying listening hoping

it is here i wish to be when it comes.
