corn

by michael glaviano

i am a latex glove
away from being of something.
i am a surgery away
from home. the last week feels like
yesterday, the previous week the day
before that. i have learned so much

about corn and astrology, like how
a five star day can feel like two
and that it's not a vegetable
when you ask my sister. when i eat
i do so slowly and aimlessly,
especially when i eat corn.
