Jean L. Connor began writing poems after retiring from a long career as a librarian in New York State. She lives and writes at Wake Robin retirement community in Shelburne, Vermont. The poems in A CARTOGRAPHY OF PEACE (Passager Books, 2005) were written between her 75th and 85th year, and her second book, A HINGE OF JOY (Passager Books, Six over Sixty series, 2009), was published shortly before her 90th birthday. United States Poet Laureate Ted Kooser selected one of Connor's poems for inclusion in his 2005 series, American Life in Poetry.
