Philippe Jaccottet is a Swiss born poet and translator. He has translated numerous authors and poets into French, including Goethe, Rilke, Holderlin, Mann, Homer and Ungaretti. He was awarded the German international Petrarcha-Press in 1988 for his poetry. In 2014 he became the fifteenth living author to be published in the Biblioteque de la Pleiade.
