David Need teaches at Duke University in the Department of Religion and the Slavic and Eurasian Studies. He is the author of The Late French Poetry of Ranier Maria Rilke (Horse & Buggy Press, 2014) featuring translations and essays alongside drawings by Clare Johnson. His poetry and essays on poetry have appeared in Hambone, Talisman, Golden Handcuffs Review, Spoke, and Oyster Boy.
