Author: Knox Gardner and Nia Michaels

Knox Gardner is a community activist in Seattle where he organizes the Jackson Street Jazz Walk and Hopscotch CD. His poems have been published in the James White Review and performed in a solo video performance at the Seattle Art Museum. Several galleries have shown his photographs including the Brookline Arts Center in Massachusetts. He has received grants from Jack Straw and Allied Arts.

Trained as a painter, Nia Michaels became obsessed with old decorative tins and tintype photos ten years ago and now works exclusively with these materials. Her work has been shown widely, including at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art in Washington and The Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston. She has also won numerous awards.
