Deborah Tall (1951-2006) is the author of four previous collections of poems (most recently Summons, 2000, from Sarabande Books) and three books of nonfiction (A Family of Strangers, 2006, also from Sarabande). She taught at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where she edited Seneca Review and helped name and promulgate the Lyric Essay.
