Carolyn Holbrook is the founder and Artistic/Executive Director of More Than a Single Story and SASE: The Write Place. She is the author of the literary nonfiction book EARTH ANGELS (Spout Press, 2019). Her essays have appeared most recently in A Good Time For The Truth: Race in Minnesota (MNHS Press) and Blues Vision: African American Writing from Minnesota (MNHS Press). Her book Ordinary People, Extraordinary Journeys: How the St. Paul Companies Leadership Initiatives in Neighborhoods Program Changed Lives and Communities was published in 2015. She is also co-author of Hope In the Struggle (Univ. of MN Press), a memoir of Dr. Josie R. Johnson. She was the 2010 recipient of the MN Book Awards Kay Sexton Award and a 50 over 50 award from AARP and Pollen Midwest in 2016. In 2014, she won the Exemplary Teacher Award at Hamline University.
