Susan Briante was born in Newark, N.J., after the riots. She is the author of three poetry collections published by Ahsahta Press, PIONEERS IN THE STUDY OF MOTION (2007), UTOPIA MINUS (2011), and THE MARKET WONDERS (2016). She is an associate professor of Creative Writing at the University of Arizona.
