Brandon Brown
Brandon Brown is from Kansas City, Missouri. His books include FLOWERING MALL (Roof Books, 2012), THE PERSIANS BY AESCHYLUS (Displaced Press, 2011), and THE POEMS OF GAIUS VALERIUS CATULLUS (Krupskaya, 2011). He is the author of several chapbooks, including Memoirs of My Nervous Illness (Cy Press, 2006), Wondrous Things I Have Seen (Mitzvah Chaps, 2010) and Your Mom’s a Falconress and Other Poems (2010). Recent prose has appeared in Art Practical, and in 2010-11 he regularly blogged for Open Space, the blog of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Ming Di (pen name of Mindy Zhang) was born and grew up in China, went to Boston for graduate studies and moved to California where she writes and publishes in China and Taiwan. Author of six collections in Chinese: Etudes in D Minor, Days Floating on Footage, Berlin Story, Art of Splitting, Chords Breaking and Selected Poems of Ming Di, and editor of Poetry East West, a bilingual literary journal, she also translates poetry and literary essays from English to Chinese with two volumes published and three forthcoming.

giovanni singleton

giovanni singleton is a poet and founding editor of NOCTURNES (RE) VIEW OF THE LITERARY ARTS, a journal featuring work of the African Diaspora and other contested spaces. ASCENSION, her 2012 debut collection, received the 81st California Book Award Gold Medal for poetry. Her work was featured in San Francisco’s 1st Visual Poetry and Performance Festival, on the building of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (San Francisco), and in Angles of Ascent: A Norton Anthology of Contemporary African American Poetry (W. W. Norton & Company, 2013), Kindergarde: Avant-Garde Poems, Plays, & Stories for Children (forthcoming), and I’LL DROWN MY BOOK: CONCEPTUAL WRITING BY WOMEN (Les Figues Press, 2012). She has taught poetry at the de Young Museum, Saint Mary’s College, Naropa University, and schools in the Bay Area through California Poets in the Schools. She coordinates the UC Berkeley Lunch Poems reading series under the direction of Robert Hass.

Sara Wintz lives in Oakland, California. Her writing has been published in 6x6, Big Bell, HTMLGIANT, Jacket, Lungfull!, Openned, The Poetry Project Newsletter, Try!, and Where Eagles Dare. WALKING ACROSS A FIELD WE ARE FOCUSED ON AT THIS TIME NOW is her first book.

Michael Zapruder

Michael Zapruder is an award-winning musician whose discography includes three solo records and the 52 Songs project, for which he wrote, recorded and posted online one song per week for a year. His most recent album, Dragon Chinese Cocktail Horoscope (SideCho Records), won the 2009 Independent Music Award for Best Folk/Singer- songwriter Album. Zapruder’s music has been well-received and reviewed widely, most notably by Pitchfork, the Los Angeles Times, Time Out New York, Magnet Magazine, and The Washington Post. He has toured the US numerous times and appeared with artists like Iron and Wine, Fruit Bats, and Scout Niblett.
