Poetry. In FORGED daily experience is the density in which these poems take shape, in the heated atmosphere of the forge where peril is frequent. As elsewhere in her prose, she [Howe] creates her in poetry, a layered atmosphere of mystery and spiritual solution-- Barbara Guest. Fanny Howe is the author of more than thirty works fo poetry and prose, including THE WAGES (Grid Books, 2020), NIGHT PHILOSOPHY (Divided Publishing Ltd, 2020), WHAT DID I DO WRONG (Flood Editions, 2009), and THE LIVES OF SPIRIT GLASSTOWN (Nightboat Books, 2005). Howe received the 2009 Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize from the Poetry Foundation for lifetime achievement.
