Poetry. RUB OUT is a trilogy of experimental verse novels: "Rub Out," a meditation on Whitey Bulger and other Boston mobsters, Concord transcendentalists and the disappearance of a young woman; "Breezy Point," a lament set in New York City's seaside community of that name; and "Tell On You," a prose poem sequence focusing on boxing, Las Vegas comics and a corpse that washes ashore in Brooklyn.
Ed Barrett is the author of more than ten books of poetry including DOWN NEW UTRECHT AVENUE (2011) and TOWARD BLUE PENINSULA (2014), and The SINATRA N (2016) from Pressed Wafer. He is also the author of a trilogy of Boston-based prose-poem novels published by Pressed Wafer comprising BOSSTON (2008), KEVIN WHITE (2007) and RUB OUT (2004). Barrett lives in Cambridge, MA, and teaches in the MIT Writing Program. Continuing to learn the Irish Language, he spends his summers within sight of Ireland's Blasket Islands.
