Description
Poetry. "This is the little-known story of a figure that resembles Samuel Beckett-a school teacher sentenced to repetitions in the evacuated gloom. It is told through many persons, both known and unknown; it is true but not, a dead calm in the presence if giddy life. A broad grin covers these pages, especially in the unredeemable darkness. He kills us with the joke of a lifetime: 'nothing is funnier than unhappiness'"-from the Reader's Guide. Brian Strang teaches English composition at San Francisco State University.
