Author Bio
Germain Droogenbroodt, was born in Rollegem, in the Flemish region of Belgium. In 1987, he moved to the artist village of Altea and integrated into Spanish literary life. He is a poet, translator, publisher, and promoter of modern international poetry. His 14 books of original poetry have been published in 28 countries. Fluent in six languages, he has published more than thirty anthologies of translated poetry that have expanded the global readership of world poetry. As founder and editor of the Belgian publishing house POINT Editions (POetry INTernational), he published more than eighty collections of mainly modern, international poetry. In 1996, he formed a new poety movement, called neo-sensacionismo, with the Chinese poets Bei Dao and Duo Duo. Droogenbroodt has organized and co-organized several international poetry festivals. He is vice-president of the Academy Mihai Eminescu, organizing the International Poetry Festival Mihai Eminescu in Craiova, Romania, co- founder and advisor of JUNPA (Japan Universal Poets Association), artistic advisor of the Italian movement Poetry & Discovery, and founding president of the Spanish cultural foundation ITHACA. He also collaborates with the Italian poetry publication Margutte.
