"Because [Barnett's] research is so scrupulous and diligent, his delight in fact over conjecture soenlivening, I would like to see this book in universities—not just on the library shelves—because it is an essential text for anyone interested in the culture of the last century and its implications."—Michael Steinman, Cadence Magazine
